epigraph letter-fragments-

Thurs. 21 Oct 1976

Dear Janaina, --Good Morning!

A man has justt seen a herd of

Antelope running along the track!

(I missed them.) Wyoming. Beautiful

Mesds - red-dirt. Freezing outside!

9:04 A.M. The town looks like a Western

town. The mountains are sculptures!-

More interesting than those in museums!

Thought I could bring one of them

home to you but couldn't get it through

the train window.

Lots of people restless because they

couldn't get (their) breakfast on time

this morn.

21 Oct. 76,

Dear Janaina, The Greek word for

"rose" is "triandafillou"

-I'm writing this at makeshift desk

Can't write very well.--

What's happened to that herd

of antelopes? - It has galloped

into a rose...
