The "Doubbie" Poem - FOR DOUBBIE - Double

     1.
Where's the poem for Doubbie? it's coming Lita
And here it is it's here it's there it's every-
                    where
"Les Noires" says Leo Something you won't forget
so easily The world's gotten smaller and small
er parked there in the dark
Stark night of St. Mark's!
All the nations of the world ran in your shadow
In my opening my arms to the clouds and forgetting
their names I could only remember yours
Will we fit ourselves into the bodies
Of men and women like gloves and possibly
Makae them more gentle

You say how it's possible
                                     to love
All the people I love I love them for all the
Goodness they are they never diminish me they always
Make me more sure of loving
Je te souviens quand je mange un "ckicken-salad
                                                             sandwich"
And mothers out for their midafternoon walk stop to
        admire me!
And I in turn stop to admire them!
I can hear you bark all the way out here
In California They would admire you more than me
Worthy is the workman on of his hire
Mayakovsky is standing on the steps of the Winter
     Palace
                      and he counts
All of those who go up declaring themselves "this"
And all of those who go down declaring themselves
        "that"
The candelabras neigh the lintels siren
                                pool-players and poets
